Got a P1127 (Manufacturer Control) code tonight. First time ever with the check engine light on, VSC/TRAC light came on. Engine was running fine but no throttle response. Cleared the code and it was fine again and had throttle. Something electrical with the throttle body? It's a 2000 so still the drive by cable variety. Thoughts?

So this issue is starting to happen more often now. I tested the plug at the ECU where the FSM said to and was getting good voltage. Does that mean something with the ECU is screwed or the throttle body?

What's bizarre is I'm not even able to clear the code any more. The only way I can get the check engine to go is by unplugging the EFI fuse...

Looks like you need a slip a Hamilton into the OBD2 port and the problem won't come back!

I would seriously consider taking the ECU board out and spraying it down with QD Electronic Cleaner, dry it off, and put it back. It’s seriously quick and easy. It remedied my p1128? (Throttle control motor) problem, which kept kicking in shortly after driving it, despite all throttle body components looking good. Another guy had the same issue and fixed it by cleaning his ECU, there was a whole thread on it.
I have no idea what was going on with my ECU, since it’s actually looked clean, and I don’t understand that crap. But I couldn’t drive the thing 1/2 mile until it kicked into limp mode. Cleaned it and it’s been fine for several months and several thousand miles.

Yeah I tried that already and it came back unfortunately. It doesn't seem like this is a particularly common issue. I might just trying replacing the TB and ECU with used parts to see if it goes away...

However I didn't take the ECU and spray it... I just sprayed the male connections.... did you take yours apart?

So I sprayed the whole ECU out and let it dry thoroughly. Yesterday, code came back. For some reason it doesn't trigger when it's colder out, like in the morning. After I've driven and it's hot out, it'll trip shortly after starting and driving the car. WTH is going on? I'm starting to believe the ECU is the problem, but the VSC and TRAC lights come on, making me think it's the throttle body. The only other thing I can think of is a loose connection in the fuse box. I replaced the box not too long ago. Thoughts?

Check EFI fuse underhood just incase. If the CEL comes on the VSC/TRAC always turns on with it.

the last one that i fixed was literately just a dirty throttle body. lots of issues and same code before, has since driven 10k miles since cleaning and no issues. if that doesn't fix it graph the throttle position data while going on a test drive and look for spikes and dips in the data.
