I've got a 1997 lexus lx450.It so happened that I've got P0133 problem(pre-catalytic sensor).I ordered it in ebay(denso product).Apparently, the product they sent to me is a flunge type.Due to heat and normal wear,I can't take out the screw of the sensor(it's look like it's welded due maybe to heat). So what I did,I installed the new sensor in the post-cat and the latter I installed in the pre-cat(in short,I switched the sensor)coz the post sensor is a thread type and easy to install. You think there will be a problem later on?It's been two weeks now since I switched it,and no engine check coming out yet from dust board.I just noticed that it's just have a little bit idle with the engine..but still strong when you press the gas.Any idea?

That's not going to work. OBDII is smarter than that. You will get another check engine light.

Try removing the stuck O2 sensor when the exhaust is hot. It can loosen it up a bit.

I dont see why it's bad? As far as I could tell the only difference between the two were the pigtails.

I don't know the history of your 80, but the o2 sensors on my southern 80 came right out with 200k on them. I just soaked them in pb blaster 15 min beforehand.

You have one flange type and one threaded 02 sensor?

Both sensors have flanges with the sensors screwed (and welded?) into them. If you have a screw in sensor you took it out it's because the flange is still there mounted on the cat. Both sensors should look identical cept for the pigtail. (on the LX anyway)

You are right, I misread his post. I thought he left the bad sensor in and just swapped plugs.

Looking back, his post is unclear.

I agree that as long as the sensor installed in the front position is indeed plugged into the connector meant for the front sensor, then probably not a big deal.

exactly!the threaded type was on the rear and now installed in front and the new sensor which is flunge and design for for pre-cat was installed in rear(I jusr switch the two).

At this moment,it looks like I outsmart the OBDII(isn't it?)...It's been a month now..and no ECL!wow..woooooooowww!is it's a miracle??or just bec. it's a matter of pigtail?
