Never tried oxtail, would like too. Anyone got any helpful tips or recipes?

I've only done it a couple times, but I basically made a spicy beef stew and used oxtail for my meat. Run it in the slow cooker for 8-10 hours. Turned out well, but the hipsters around here have driven the cost of oxtail way up. Used to be super cheap.

Oh...texture, flavor, and consistency is very much like slow cooked beef spare ribs.

Reeves recipe sounds pretty dam good. Also check out this guy on you tube called Caribbeanpot all kinds of good recipes.
This is a link for ox tail

Enjoy.

Google Osso Buco, you can use the same methods with Ox tail. Basically any braising method will be good. I love braised stuff that is made from cuts that have a high connective tissue content. All the gelatin gives the broth a silky texture. Lamb shank is about the cheapest cut of lamb you can find, braised they are heaven in the mouth.
