I have a 88 FJ-62 with the stock color red paint. Near the rear windows it looks like the clear coat is cracking. I was told by a friend that if I took a buffer to that it might come out. I was wondering if anyone else has any other ideas. Thanks.

Mequiar's used to make a great polishing compound that removed oxidation like a champ. Try a variable speed, random orbital buffer with several clean pads and go at it. At worst, the cracking may still be there but hey, the rest of the truck will look like new.
