Hey gang

Next weekend, June 25th & 26th, we'll be having our first overnight trail ride! I'm expecting a good turn out, and it's going to be a blast. Just outside McAllister, in the Tobacco Roots, is the well known trail N. Meadow Creek Rd. It ends at an absolutely beautiful lake with picture-worthy scenery. The trail to Twin lakes is rough. You'll drag a diff here and there. Probably use sliders some. Super fun stuff! 40's and wagons on 35's will get through a little easier, but 2 inches of lift on 33's will make for some really fun driving. I'll start a thread on ih8mud.com, and we'll fine tune the plan. Please bring your wife, girlfriend (not both), kids and friends!

I'll try to make it if the new lower links get delivered and the off road shop can weld in reenforcement plates to the lower link frame brackets

You'll probably be just fine with the lift, but you might drag a little more on your diff. We'll get you through one way or another. Stacking rocks worked good last weekend.

Sweet, I got the front coil overs on with a diff drop and extended brake lines today, tomorrow I get the rear coils and shocks with new brake line, hopefully I can get an alignment this week! I will hopefully know soon if I can make it, hope I can

Welp the lift is all on but I think I am going to have to swap the rear coils for something shorter. 3" is more than I wanted even after looking at so many trucks online, want more like a 2" so my truck might be down for quite a while...

The springs will settle a bit I would think. Will you have more weight in it at some point? My springs definitely settled after use.

So do you think this would be something where I could meet up on Sunday? I'm kinda getting the impression that running the trail solo would be a bad idea without protection, winch, or communication....

Hmmm, I don't have sliders though...not sure how much damage i am willing to risk, lol
Most of the risk is on diff housings. I rubbed my sliders, but I wasn't trying to avoid it. I think with careful line selection, and maybe stacking some rocks, the carnage should be kept to a minimum. With that being said, Enter at your own risk!

There are other trails that I would run solo before this one. I think the plan is to head out to another lake, which is off the trail we are taking to Twin Lakes. Meeting up might be a challenge, but if we plan it out, should work.

I will be adding more weight and they will settle yes. But their final height after settling with 300-400extra is 3". With how my stock suspension was sagging it went up more like 4.5-5" it seems, so I'm ordering 2" lift stiffer coils. So they will settle to be closer to 1-1.5" maybe?

I should be good to go for Saturday I just need more Info as far as where on Saturday we're meeting up at and when

Turns out an old friend is coming through town this weekend so it's probably just as well I pass. Doesn't sound like a good trail to try to play catch up...

@3rdGenTRD post up some pics so that we can see. I'd be willing to bet that they will settle to where you want them....

Not the best for catch up indeed. We'll get you out there next time Lax!

Alright gang, let's get a plan put together. We'll meet at Mama Macs in 4 Corners at 8:00. Please arrive early if you want to order anything. People can also meet us at the gas station in Norris at 8:45-ish. If anyone wants to meet in Norris, Please post up so we know to look and wait for you.

Plan accordingly for two full days of fun with no re-supply once we are out of Norris. You can get fuel in Norris, but the convenience store is closed, so get your food in town. I suspect we should be off the trail, and back in Norris at around 5 or so.

Here is a pic of it. I am going to load it down with the weight expect to have on it in the near future and see how it acts. In the picture it looks tall to me but in person it was worse I think. Like looked very disproportionate. And on that note I might start a new thread for this but does anyone happen to have 285/75r16 or close to that size of tire on rim on their cruiser that would be willing to come over to my place and I could test fit that size of tire to see if it fits well? Like I said I night do a stand alone thread for that once I have the rear axles put back together and it is driveabile.
