hey guys has anyone picked up a magazine dedicated to expeditions only call Overland Journal? i have their first issue and they only put out about 5-6 a year but well worth it, its full of tips and expeditions. something everyone in this category needs. check it out, i dont know where to get them. the guy stopped by to the phoenix AZ 4wheelparts and handed them out to get started.

summer issue just showed at my place yesterday.... :D

I hopefully will get my copy soon. it looks good, will let you know.

Summer issue here today ... !

Since Desert Dude is too modest to say so, his rig is in the first edition...awesome build! He's constructed a killer drawer system on his 80 series.

kudos to overland, the last issue never came, after a quick email corresponance, i had a replacement and decal arrive within a couple days.

Overland Journal is one of the best magazines I've had the pleasure of laying my hands on. The brain child of Scott Brady (Expeditionswest here on Mud), this magazine has brought pride back to publishing. There will be 5 issues each year, 1 for each season with an additional "Gear" issue I believe. All of the people involved with this mag are top notch folks with hundreds of combined years of experience in our hobby. Not that I have a vested interest in thismag but I can help but tout quality when I see it.

Great looking magazine, but seems a bit pricey to me.

Found out about this mag from this thread ordered the Spring and Summer edition and subscribed. Got the Spring and Summer today. Very high quality binding and pics. I have only read a couple of the articles all the way through and scanned almost all of them. Articles seem well written. I am very excited to finish reading both editions. Somehow I don't think 4-5 editions a year will be enough for my appetite.

Best thing about ordering the mag in SLC is that it prints in Payson and we usually get ours first.

its really not expensive if you take into account the extensive content in the journal, it's much more than a magazine, it more like a short book. the fact that you only get 5 issues a year, it will take you up until your next issue to cover all the content it has to offer, by far worth every penny.

I am a subscriber and its well worth the $ for sure!

This mag is a class publication, I highly recommend it. It may be a bit pricey compared to other pub's but you get what you pay for. There is a ton of content and every page is not littered with ads for 6" lifts.

If you're on the fence, go for it you won't be sorry!

Awesome mag, I love it.

When you look at the content...which is actual, real world stuff you'll use every time you go out...it's worth every penny, and then some.

I quit subscribing to every other 4wd mag because I got sick of reading the same "extreme" wheeling articles...which I'm just not into...the OZ stuff was really pricey...about $150 year shipped...

I'm a big fan of Overland Journal, and the editors/contributors practice what they preach...

I subscribed after a friend called from Slee's. He was waiting for work on his 60, and noticed the mag sitting there. I was looking for a fridge, and it had the review of a bunch of fridge freezers. I since have subscribed and bought the first 2 back issues to complete my subscription. They cover everything I was looking for from HAM radios, to diesel swapping info on 60's. The trips reports are great too. Getting ready for the Continental Divide road myself now!
Great magazine, very informative. I will keep subscribing!
