No, but they look interesting.

They do look interesting. I like the Nomad model.

anyone heard of Overland Accessories tents: Overland Accessories

looking at purchasing one, or maybe a group buy.
Anybody know if they are a decent product?

The fact that they use Rovers should tell you something right there. I thought I was not a fan or the Rover, then I went to OZ, they really them, they do not do well in the out back, at all, I have seen them stacked up in the junk yards in OZ. Just my 2 cents, perhaps they have good accessories that can be used on the Cruiser.

Cheers,

Michael

Anybody know where this business is??

and a search turnd up some on the Los Angeles craigslist...fyi...$450 bucks...

Funny I see this...

Im in no way affiliated with this guys but the other day I was parking my rig and this dude on a ROVER approached me.. At first I thought he wanted info on my roof top tent.. but as we chatted he mentioned he has a couple of containers with these tents and was looking to get rid of them at cost...

He gave me one of his cards with all his info...
Here it is...

Jason Oropeza

Glendora, CA 91741

I havent had the chance to go and see their tents..
I already have one but for the price he's selling them I wouldnt mind to pick another one for my rig...

Hope this does not brake any rules in this here forum.. if it does .......(my bad).....

I don't know much about Tents or the material they use but is it me or does the material look a little flimsy?

The ones I've seen from other companies seem more durable and made of some different material.

Hard to say eh...

Im curious enough to go and check them out....

Doesn't look half bad for the price... would love to see some close up pics of the way it's constructed. Anyone near the seller?

They're using a 210 denier polyester. On a $500 Northface tent you'll find a 75 denier poly on the top and a 70 denier nylon for the floor for more wear resistance. For those who don't know denier is a measurement that defines a yarns "fineness" with the smaller number being more fine. Thus in the same square foot of fabric a Northface tent would have many more fibers that the Overland. This would equate to a tighter, lighter, and more waterproof material typically. This is why Overland is also providing a rain fly with the one model. Typically 210 is used on duffel bags, chairs, etc. This is not to say the Overland tent will leak, just something to keep in mind. Of course the 75 would be more $$$ than the 210 and there's some of the savings.

My biggest question in the purchase would be the company itself though. I'd be a little shakey on ordering something from a company that has no real contact info on their website. No number, no address, just an email form.

For at least half the price as other rooftops I'd like to really look at the Overland though. I look at it like this...how many days a year am I going to use it versus the price. If you plan on every weekend I'd probably stick with another brand, if it's 4-5 weekends a year?

The funny part though is the Land Cruiser article they're using. What an first paragraph!
