Hi All,
I recently replaced my heater core tees and did a flush on the system after they broke on the trail. After i completed the fix, all seemed well. Anyways, i drove the LC over to my work (14 miles) and left it idling outside, all looks good (60 degF weather) as i just wanted to grab some things before i went camping. After about 15-20 minutes of chatting with my coworkers i come out to the LC shutoff, i see a few drops of coolant underneath it, maybe a coffee cups worth. As i go to turn it on i notice the coolant gauge is close if not in the red. I havent started it yet, but I have two questions:
1. Does the ECU have a fail safe that automatically shuts down the engine after a certain temp is reached for engine safety?
2. If the system lost pressure, e.g. say the upper plastic tank is cracked or something, would this cause it to overheat?
Thanks,
Nick
