I've searched all these LED threads but can't find anything like this.

This 2008 Highlander I had as a rental car has a little LED light in the Overhead console dome light.

At night with the headlights on it cast a light purple/blueish light directly onto the center console so you could see everything at night. It looks like the LED bulb is mounted up higher with a square plastic surround to frame the light so it only shines on the center console and not in your eyes while driving.

I think some accent lighting like this would be nice especially in the early 100s. In mine it's super dark minus the green dashlights.

Can anyone think of a way to rig up something similar> We have that unused garage door opener spot in the overhead console that could house it easily. Already has the square hole for it.

You can see what I'm talking about here:

new 2011 4Runner has it so does my BMW. Actually pretty nice to have. Don't know it is there until you look for it, but does make it nice.

Loud's is more like a bright light... I wonder if I find the part number from the 4runner or Highlander if I could get it to fit in that garage door opener compartment and wire it into the interior lights or dashboard lights.

Am I confusing my cars, but I though the LX alreay had this... I'll check my '06 tomorrow.

Some years yes. Some years no.

It's not super rugged or necessary, but I'd be interested to see anyone who has done some interior accent lighting. Would be nice for finding things at night. And nice for taking the lady or ladies out on town. Isn't that the point of having a valet worthy 4x4 anyway?
