Was looking fo a pic of McNabb. This is what I found.

Nice. McNabb was GSMTR base camp until 05

We have reserved McNabb for that weekend as an option. We will make a final decision by next wednesday on the exact location. But I went ahead and reserved it for Thusday through Sunday.

99 dollars is cheap insurance knowing you have a place that no one else can take.

From the looks of it we are probably going to have at least 30 vehicles on this trip possibly more.

As far as money I'm sticking with the original plan of reserving sites. If it comes down to staying at McNabb then we will either make the decision of refunding money or putting all the extra left over and doing giveaways or another meal.

My goal will be to make sure you are comfortable, having fun, and worry free.

Awsome Marshall, you guys are top notch. It makes me feel good about driving all those miles knowing you guys are on top of things. Looking forward to it.

Jeremy

Big Oak has been the Florida site for the past two years - and before that we were just down the road at the next big spot that they just redid - just a hair further from the lookout entrance to lower 2.

I'm guessing that Mike, Martin, Jim and I (and mayber the two Todds and Brian?) will be shooting for State Line or Big Oak. Gotta have a stream to feed the hotwater shower!

McNabb is nice. I have always liked it. Being on the other side of Green Cove is a good thing. You can grab gas, food, snacks, beer, make calls, get ice, etc on the way to and from the trails.

20 min drive each way isn't the greatest, but considering we plan on spending the entire day on the trail we are really only talking about 4 trips to and from camp in 2 days...hardly THAT much effort.

That said, I don't really care where I sleep :)

Yeah I was talking to Alex today mentioning McNabb. We knew that if we picked it it might cause an issue as far as the FL crowd wanting to be at Big Oak. We don't have a problem with that. We know you must be near water at all times. It's kind of like home turf. :D

If we do pick McNabb I will still reserve campsites wherever ya'll want me to.

Marshall - Let me talk with Mike and Jim tonight - think we're taking Mike Fahey out for dinner or something - not sure. I really really like being on the water and will send you money to reserve our spots, but if you end up at McNabb I think it'd be best if we stayed over with the group - makes for a better event for all concerned (just so long as everyone can put up with Jim staying up till 4 a.m.). I stayed there a couple of times in the late 90's and just drove over to the krik and jumped in - plenty warm in August.

Is there a creek that runs beside McNabb we could draw from? Yep I think a redneck rafting contest will be intore for this crowd at some point in this trip.:D

YES! The river/creek is literally right outside the gate across the dirt road.

Hey Marshall...the 3 Jeeper guys riding up with me. Do they need to find a campsite on their own, or is it ok if they crash McNabb whether we stay there or not and just not join in on the food/give a ways?

PM sent. I have no problem with Jeep owners as long as they understand that this is a LC club.

I don't know Chuck is the undisputed Redneck Rafting River Champion........ it will be hard to topple him from his throne he has PBR on his side :grinpimp:

I will pack my speedo and my racing cooler just in case :)

Thats right it's time to start talking about it. 7 weeks away.

Who: Upstate Cruisers, Toyota Trail team (Woody), STLCA

When: August 10th-12th

Where: McNabb Campground

How much: Nothing! We will reserve a campsite for you at McNabb group campground. Right now we are asking for 20 dollars per tent as most of this will go for food Friday night and possibly Sat night.

The Down Low: Plan to camp Friday and Saturday. We are working with STLCA Friday around 12. And then on Sat putting up some trail head signs. But plan on being able to have plenty of time to do what you want. This event is for you to enjoy. We will plan(on having at least 3 classified rides on Sat. Hardcore (those who don't mind damage and have at least one if not two lockers and 32" or bigger tires, then there will be our usual ride through 4, 5, 6 in no particular order. And then we will have a scheduled night ride. Depending on the # of confirmed people at the event each of these rides could be split into more than one group.

Food: My special Buffalo wings Friday night with french fries, carrots and celery along with blue cheese and ranch dipping sauces. Hot, mild, hot teriyaki, teriyaki will be the flavor. Also we will have JP around to make us a couple gallons of Rotel dip. Diner Sat is still to be decided but it could be anything from burgers to steak depending on what we have money wise.

Camping: McNabb will be our home base this time. We have found that it is just better and gets us all closer together. It has a limit of 100 people and 60 vehicles. Everything has been taken care of. My plan is to travel up Thursday and reserve the canopy site. Sit out relax and enjoy the stars. If you want to come join me you are more than welcome. Then hang out till lunch for those coming early to help with trail maint.

Goodies: We will have a t-shirt made this year. They will be available 2 weeks before the event as well as at the event.

Who else: Prospective members, and we have asked STLCA to join us for this event. The Eastern Toyota Trail Team will also be joining us for this one. If you are not aware Woody (Brian) is in this group. He is the owner of IH8MUD.

Who is in charge: Our former President Alex Garcia has stepped up to the plate to organize this. I will be his second in command and club cook.

Paying for camping and food: Right now it is 20 per tent. That could become smaller as we get closer to the date. But plan on paying or getting for someone to pay for through paypal. It's a heck of a lot easier for me to manage. Who, when and how much.

More details to come next week.

If you have any questions you can e-mail marshall@828rugs.com[/emaim] me or post them below. No question is to stupid, just take a look at a few of mine and you Will understand.
