They don't want to partake in any of the festivities, they just want to come and work. Wasn't sure if they'd still need to pay to work...

No problems on friday as far as helping with trails maint. But as far as the rest of the weekends activities it will be limited to UC members and STLCA members. Joining UC for a year is only $15 dollars and and you'd probably recoupe half that at just this event with give outs and food friday night.

Please use paypal to pay for these. As Alex has decided to use his funds up front to buy them. I'd like to get him his money back asap. We can also ship these to anyone not making OTMT for an additional $3.

FYI...Dan and I won't need separate sites for camping. We will have his 3 room castle tent OR a new travel trailer we are looking at. So we're sharing a site. We'll each PayPal $40 ($20 for Tshirt and $20 for one night each).

I'm in for 1 XL...Thanks

Money for camping.

Explanation of cost.

there are two tents allowed for each campsite. The US Forestry service charges $10 a night for each site (two tents).

What UC is charging. $20 for the two nights per tent site. That means we will collect $40 per each site $20 of which we will use for reserving the site for Friday and Saturday night. The other $20 will go into the food pot for dinner Friday night as well as anything else I can manage to cram in my vehicle. Some of the money will also go towards paying for the FJC trail Teams camp spots and the main hangout site.

Example. I'm going (imagine that) I have yet to decide on if I'm staying in my Cruiser or in a tent but I will only need one tent space. So I will pay a total of $20 for my one tent spot. If My wife or Daughter were going I would still only pay $20 dollars for the whole weekend.

This is as simple as I could make it. Some will make out better than other since some will have more people in a tent than some. If you want to cram 10 people in a tent and only pay $20 dollars that is fine with me. Uc will feed all 10 people. Some have already paid thinking it was $20 a night. I will get with you and get you some money back.

We are also looking into trying to find closer alt camping sites closer to Big Oak besides Spivey Cove. There are some around Big Oak. I will place as many as I can in Big Oak and the rest as close as possible. Please do not reserve more sites than what you need due to space. Those that have paid in advance will have sites reserved for you by me. I will make signs for every campsite with your name on it so you know where to go. I will also have any updates on my voicemail of my phone incase service doesn't work.

You can pay using UC's paypal account ( UC@828rugs.com ) . Make sure you put how many will be with you and how many tent sites you are paying for. So we know how much food to buy for Friday night.

Info Packet

Everyone should have received their info packet this past week. Another mass mailing of the packet will be done by Troll for those who do not visit 'MUD. If you have not received it yet, please email me and I will ensure you get it.

Also, please see the post for TRAIL LEADERS. This is the info you need to join a convoy from your state to the OTMT campsite.

My story and sticking to it: If the GF takes her horse trip to Ohio this same weekend then I'm coming. Won't actually know until the week of, though. If i can make it, then I don't mind joining up with the ATL/GA convoy contingent if that's cool with the fearless Avacado leader.

dang i really want to make this trip BADLY! I was talking with jfz80 the other night and the gas bills are piling up fast. One pre-cullowhee trip with a gas bill of around $150, plus the pumpkin pig run with a gas bill of around $150, and then over-the-mountain with a gas bill of around $150-200, is making this financially tough on the wallet.
