Dang, Alex...you gotta make it, brother. But I hear what you are saying.

dang i really want to make this trip BADLY! I was talking with jfz80 the other night and the gas bills are piling up fast. One pre-cullowhee trip with a gas bill of around $150, plus the pumpkin pig run with a gas bill of around $150, and then over-the-mountain with a gas bill of around $150-200, is making this financially tough on the wallet.

Can relate - Try $500 to $600 in diesel from Florida RT - had to sell some OEM soft doors to JT just to be able to afford to go - and I'd been hanging on to them for 3 years +, grrrrrrr. Rather wheel than restore them tho.....

Now add to it a run this Saturday $150 away RT that I'm getting my arm twisted to attend - rocks in Florida - elevation to boot - this one's a rare annual, grrrrrrrr......

Now add my weekend boat fuel at $50 plus a day, grrrrrrrr.........

Dating a nice girl costs $$$, grrrrrr.........

Did I mention my Land Rover habit, grrrrrr........

Yeah - I'm gonna make it with no complaints - just save me some table scraps :flipoff2:.

Dan, when are you leaving the ATL area? Friday morning?

Anyone know what trails being done? Splitting into groups? I'm unlocked up front and no longer have the 8274 up front.... I'd love slick rock but doubt i can without a winch.... tired of 4 and 6:frown:

I'll be heading out after work friday.

See my thread on ATL convoy...it has all the details. If you want to come over on Thursday and leave in the AM that would work.

If you want to do slickrock I will do it with you. I can go first so I can assist, etc if you need it. Haven't decided on trails yet, but I was thinking slick rock and guardrail for sure...possibly schoolbus ;)

Not sure if Jim is committed to going .... if not I'll need to team up with at least one other rig for lower 2, guardrail, and helicopter - Alan, tell me you're in on this one?

I am always up for slick rock (did it 3 times in one day once - 4 if you count driving back down and up again) :D, and never mind helping with a winch - from what I read you'll do fine with maybe the top o chute being the only issue. I've never had to winch as long as I stay off the skinny pedal and don't break stuff - and we took a bunch of 40's thru last May with no problems - all had 33" to 38.5" tires.

I also want to do Schoolbus and Upper 2.

Ambitious eh!

Martin and I will be there either Thursday night or Friday afternoon depending on departure time. Our convoy will be the 80 mph one - if Jim goes expect 85 with bursts to 90 - crazy old fool.

Bill, I'm in on all those trails. We need to get all the SE guys to rally for the weekend.

Yessssssssssssss! Sweet - stoked you can make it. Working on Jim - stopped in at Howley's on the way home last night (ironic I was driving the 40) to meet up with Jim, Mike Fahey, Mad and Danielle. Told Jim he has to go....

All the FL boys are converging. I think the only Hurricane that will be coming that weekend will be the FL Boys rolling up here.

Camping map.

I'm meeting Alex today for lunch. We will be going over more details.

Camping is our main focus right now as there are a couple issues. Mainly where to put everyone and how to reserve the sites.

My main goal is to do what is legally right. The rangers really want someone to be in the site in order to reserve it. Not a huge problem since I have more than enough crap to put at each site and since I have right now around 5 or more people coming friday around lunch they can do the same.

We could always book McNabb campground. That would be the cheapest since it holds 100 vehicles, has a locked gate, and only 90 dollars for the whole weekend. Problem with McNabb is it is about 20 min to the trails. hich is why we wanted Big Oak and the surrounding areas.

At this point I'm still undecided on what to do. I'm talking with a few people familiar to the area. The plan right now is to stay with the original plan.

That's why i like you guys... i's are dotted t's are crossed!

McNabb is cool but yes on the other side of green cove from the trails...
I've always enjoyed staying there though.
