Sometimes stupidity and my being a scrooge... gets best of me. Am trying to save $$ and time by not going over to the local shop (20 minutes drive one way x 2 days) and be charged for $100-$150 for bushing replacements. I decided to saw out the old bushings from the UCA.

Check out the images tell me if I should spot well and file? Or I shouldn't worry? I have a friend who has a welder he will spot weld for me. But he thinks I don't need to.

The backside is surface whereas the front is less than 1mm groove.

If it's not a prerunner and I'm not hitting whoops and jumps at high speeds, then I'd just mig that groove up and sand it flush with a drum sander attachment and then start saving up for new UCA's. If I had the $ and was planning to upgrade anyway then I'd just buy new.

I would just clean up with a file, add some spray and fit the new bushing. Lucky that the cut is made stronger by the weld around the tubing. I have seen worse done in garages where a recip saw is often used. But if a weld would give you better piece of mind then best to do it as it will just play on your mind. I wouldn't of given it a second thought and just fitted the bush, its only a scrape, just file the edges away and paint.

doesn't look that bad to me, especially considering the tube weld. I doubt it would split in 2.

I don't think you took off enough to undermine the integrity of the metal. I'd just reuse after a little cleanup.

Not a problem, especially with the tube weld supporting the backside of that.
