something strange happened today, got in the truck this morning and noticed that i didn't
have a temp reading near the clock on the console. after the drive to work, the temp
came back but has been reading 114-117 degress F... any ideas on how to reset this?
anyone seen this problem?

Clearly it was 117 outside. You didn't notice? :D

Have you tried disconnecting the battery yet?

i'm doing that now, started it like 5 minutes ago. on the drive home
the temperature went out again, and now i have no AC or auto climate
control. when i change the temp dial to cold, i get hot air. AC won't turn
on, only hot air comes out of the vents.

might have to take advantage of the extended warranty i brought

i'll post and update later...

does anyone have any idea where the temperature/climate control
stuff is located? i want to re-seed all connections

thanks

no luck on that either, also tried this: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=36083&highlight=temp+sensor

the sensor and everything looked good, although the tube down to the
foot well was disconnected.

time to head to the dealer? all i'm getting is hot air, with auto/auto and with
manual/manual.. hot air on the hot setting, hot air on the cold setting
a/c light comes on but no cold air is blown, also noticed that the engine
rpm doesn't change anymore when a/c is engaged.

help??!??

Check the ambient temperature sensor. It should be near the condensor, in front of the radiator. Measure the resistance between the two terminals. It should measure:

1.6-1.8K-ohms at 77 degrees Farenheit
0.5-0.7k-ohms at 122 degrees Farenheit

Resistance decreases as temperature increases. Use a blow dryer.

I wish I had a problem with mine, it reads -20, and unfortunately it's correct.
