I just realized that I haven't shared the buildup of our FJ62 with my brothers......

May 2008:
Well, My wife found us a new family member.
1988 FJ62, 204k miles in really great shape.

A few days later, I put some new shoes on her.

And then in December '08.......

Well, an Engineer at my office sold me a set of 4, STUDDED, Cooper Discoverer STs with wheels that have one season on them (on a Hilux) for 300 bucks.

She is ready for the snow and ice now....(crappy phone pic)

I also have an Dakar Med/Heavy suspension to install...

Earlier this September....

There was a low mileage, garage kept, 1989 FJ62 in the local Toyota dealer for C4C and the parts guy is a buddy of mine and arranged for me get some parts off it before it went off to it's next life.

We got the front seats, seat belts, console, the rear shoulder belts and associated trim pieces, light assemblies, wiper arms, plastic exterior vents and a few other things that I have to put on/in it.

The shocks aren't in yet, so I have only driven it around the block a few times. Bouncy. They should arrive Wednesday.


Next weekend is Big Birfield Weekend!!!! Rebuilding the birfs on this and another buddy's 80. Hopefully we'll have them wrapped up by Sunday, so I can do a shakedown on Broken Arrow.

Thanks, Dave. Keep us posted. I wonder how many LC's met their demise in the C4C program. What a shame. Hopefully people were able to scavenge off of them like you did before they went off to the crusher.

A buddy and I did the birf repack on it this weekend after we wrapped up the birf job on his 80.

Here it is all cleaned up and ready for a trip to the Outback....
