I do the Ragbai every other couple of years with a few uncles and a few cousins. Actually I join in when ever it ends south of 80.

My family is from Ft Madison and the Des Moines area. We have a big family reunion at the end of Ragabrai.

I've done RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa - for those who don't know) three times. Of course, that was '84, '85, and '86 when I was in my youth. Someday I'll do it again, but it'll be with a heckuva better and lighter bike than I did then. It is a great time. Nothing like partying until 2, getting up at 5, riding 60 to 100 miles as quickly as you can, sleeping the rest of the afternoon, and then repeating.

thanks for explaining what animal was talking about....i thought maybe it was a muslim holiday or something:doh: oh and riding a bike across iowa is just crazy...unless it has a motor!
