Original fabric for interior

Hi all,

I wonder if anybody has done some research if there is original interior fabric sold somewhere in Japan or other countries for the 80’s 70 series? I have a 1987 BJ73 which I want to restore.

You need to find a parts diagram and find the part number for the fabric colour, there is about a dozen patterns . Some of them are still available , at least the vinyl types are. These are the actual top and bottoms, not fabric rolls

The original BJs had Vinyl seats (as I learned in another thread on the topic). I now have vintage LJ seats in my 1985 BJ73 rig, which I had restored last winter.
I however found that the original LJ fabric is nicely matched by a fabric RECARO has available in different colors, including grey-blue.
My workshop had a sample-folder at hand and was able to purchase it from a wholesaler in Munich, but the fabric actually comes from Italy, they said.

It is good to know the vinyl fabric is available.

What about the cloth fabric?

I remember reading that LX grade 40 Series cloth was (or still is) available by the roll. However, one roll is too much fabric for a seat set.
