I'm going to pick up an FJ62 Land Cruiser in Eugene Oregon and drive it up the Oregon coast into Washington or perhaps follow the gorge over to Idaho then go up to CDA for a few days. Then I'll be headed towards Yellowstone and on to Sheridan Wyoming. Would appreciate any points of interest or places I may want to visit along the way.

For the coast, it is a matter of stopping at state parks and waysides or just turnouts to explore. There are some great rocky tidepools along the way near Yachats, Waldport and Seal Rock. The Oregon Coast Aquarium is very good, at the southern tip of the bridge before you enter Newport. The hike out to end of Cape Lookout is nice. A stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory just north of Tillamook gets you some tasty cheese curds or fresh ice cream. Near the northern tip you can drive on the beach for about 10 miles from Gearhart to the old shipwreck of the Peter Iredale. The entire Oregon coast is public access from sealine to vegetation so there is plenty more to see and do than time to do it.

The gorge is a very nice drive. If you go that way, get on the Old Columbia River Highway around where I-84 turns to 65mph.

The drive north up the Idaho panhandle into Canada is very pretty.

If you need anything in the area I am in Salem and Kevin/WagonGear is in Eugene.

Have fun!

If you head up the coast into WA take a day or two for Olympic NP. They have an old growth maple forest that is amazing. Mt Ranier NP might also be on your way and well worth visiting.

If you make it to the Olympic peninsula in Washington

The Hoh rainforest is a great place to camp.

Sol Duk hot springs is a great place to soak.

If you want to hike to hot springs the Olympic hot springs is a short hour walk from the parking lot. pretty private during the weekdays

The ferry ride to Seattle from the peninsula is a great view of the city and the mountains

Canon beach is a must stop on the Oregon coast.

Sounds like a sweet road trip! Happy travels!
