My FJ40 is probably a clean as it will ever be, I just had the Jeep Pin stripes that I picked up on the backroad to Crown King buffed out. (It was the Jeep or the Manzanita bush, and the Jeep seemed like it would cause fewer scratches, just kidding, I chose the bush). Anyway, I decided to enter it in the Desert Cruisers Car Show this Saturday at the new Cardinals Meltdown Stadium. No real expectations on my part.

Since I'll be sitting there all day, I'm available to hand out literature
to promote the club. Is there any club literature available, or anything that we would like to do to show that CSC is a good bunch of people, trying to promote responsible use of Arizona's backroads. I can print up some membership forms. If such a thing does not exist, it seems like we might want to create a one-pager about our club.

Cliff, do you have anything? I'll be at the Friday meeting. Please post here if anyone has any ideas.

Anyone else coming out to be in ,or jus to enjoy the show?

Thanks,

Sorry I've got nothing for a handout on the virtures of responsible wheelers. I think you'll find that crowd pretty un receptive anyhow. I've taken my Cruiser to a couple of car shows and have been met with less than accepting attitudes toward my 4x4 from the "car guys". And being one of the "car guys" at other shows, I hear it on that side too. But have fun, you rig certainly is show worthy. I'd like to be there, but my boy has a football game

Thanks Cliff! I think a lot of that has to do with not being a American built vehicle, and that old Land Cruisers are not well understood by the general public, or even the muscle car crowd, who still think they are Jeeps. Now if I had the small block Chevy in it that I'm planning, they might pay a little closer attention.

Oh well, I hope to have a good time anyway. :flipoff2: 'm if they can't take a joke. I'll be up for some more pinstripes after his weekend.

If your rigs any cleaner than the last meet you brought it to, it belongs in a museum. Good luck at the show!

Now who wants to come up with a CSC linecard?

I'll throw a flyer together for you if you want.. just let me know what you want it to say.

You'll have to print it yourself, though, since I'm sorta not-in-Arizona-anymore and all.

Thanks BMAN! Actually it looks a little better. I mounted a new cast iron High Lift Jack on a sheet of diamondplate behind the front bumper. The headliner is being installed tomorrow. To really appreciate the how far this rig has come, you would have to see the pictures of the restoration process. Its probably time to post some to the intro thread. The entire frame was filled with mud which dried into something like adobe brick. Fenders, fender aprons, quarter panels, inner door bottoms, all replaced. 4 major rot through holes in the rear fender wells had to be patched. I could go on for an hour.

The motor, well that's another story. Tired old thing probably has 200K on it. I take a drip pan, kitty litter and 2 qts of oil with me everywhere I go now.:o :flipoff2: Don't laugh!

Hey, don't think for a minute that I won't wheel in it. Took it up the back road to Crown King and it ran all day with no problems. I bit a rim, but nothing serious. I was bringing up the rear and I had to wait for a Jeep Rubicon to pick his lines all day. I never even had to think about em, except for the on-coming Jeep/Manzanita decision, of course.

Later,
Fu

Hoping to see you out there! Won't be dragging my fine ride out to show but am hoping to kill the better part of the day out there with my son.
