We had an '06 Tundra for a ranch truck for a while and I agree with the comments above regarding turning radius and build quality. In addition, the ride is not as nice as a LC. It is as if the front and rear suspensions were not designed to work together. The front seemed dialed in and tight while the rear was all over the place (unloaded). I know this is a result of ifs and a leaf spring rear but ford and Chevy can make this work.....

We did like the smaller size though (compared to other 1/2 ton trucks).

Good luck!

Really appreciate all the input. Went and looked over the Tundra pretty closely today and decided to stick with the 100. For one thing, the "leather" advertised ended up being vinyl, which I don't necessarily mind, but it was essentially a work truck. Bench seat, beat up bed, etc. I'm too spoiled to give up my comfy, adjustable, heated seats. Plus, it still needed the timing belt done at 115k, so no telling what other maintenance has been neglected. May still make the jump at some point, if the right truck comes along. I live out in the country, so a bed would be useful.

I'd be really, really surprised if that truck actually had vinyl. I don't remember the DC coming in anything lower than an SR5 trim, which came with nice cloth. The leather is not as good of quality as the LC or LX leather you are probably used to, and had a lot of vinyl trim to start with.........after 7 years and 100k miles, it could easily be mistaken for vinyl;)

It was an SR5 and actually looked really good on the outside (aside from dents inside the bed), but the interior, while clean, was a little beat up. It was the bench seat, so maybe they had lower quality leather than trucks with buckets, but I'm 90% sure it was vinyl. It was torn in one small spot, and it was super thin. It also didn't have steering wheel controls for the radio, which I was surprised about because every other 05/06 I've looked at had them. I may just end up getting a ragged out tacoma and keep the 100.

Mine was a mid-level SR5.......it had buckets with console, but no audio control on the steering wheel, which was not leather covered.
