ok, now that it's been forever since i started this, i finally got some more work done.
while i've had both axles, i had put the rear under there to keep it out of my way, sell the old axle and drool a bit.
in the meantime, i acquired another 60 housing for free, so i decided to clean that one up (the one under the cruiser now is literally just sitting there, i haven't even cut the old mounts off yet).
so, the last couple of weekends (had to stretch it out to two weekends because i ran out of cutoff wheels and grinding discs) i got the front housing and the extra rear housing completely cleared of all mounts and cleaned up. i mean everything came off the front and all that's left on the rear are two mounts for the ebrake cable.
here's what i started with two weekends ago...can't say i didn't get my use of the grinding wheel
is was how they looked that night. last weekend, i got the last few mounts off and finished cleaning everything up. since i know myself and that it will be months before i actually get any welding done, i rattle canned them for now.
btw, i would suggest a plasma cutter before ever doing this again
