Thought I would mention a FUNNY thing that happened to me on the way home Saturday night. About a mile from my house, pulling into a gas station and all of a sudden my right front wheel locks up!! So I slide to a halt, throw it in Park and get out.

Now I am thinking the worst...I just did a front end rebuild the week before Christmas, something got screwed up / just welded the whole hub/axle together, life is bad...

SO I start by spitting on the hub / tire, etc expecting it to be super hot...nothing, don't see anything wrong.

Jump in the truck, put it in D...it moves...another 4 feet and RRRRRT stop again. Put in Park / D...works maybe 10 feet this time. Neutral / Drive "frees up" the issue...weird but suspecting something is catching. Move around to where I can be out of the way and crawl up underneath.

There is a neat groove around the inside of my rim...the caliper is catching on it somehow? I jump back in and verify...I CAN move backwards without it catching... :D

So...if you happened to be one of the folks I passed, hazard lights on, BACKING up the mile or so to my house on Saturday in Kernersville...NOW you know the REST of the story!! I pulled over a couple times / let folks go by, etc.

I got to the house, lifted the front end, and sure enough I must have put the lower bolt in for alignment (on the caliper) and tightened the top one and did not go back and get the bottom. I know I was DEAD on my feet at that point, prob 10ish hours into the job so blaming only myself!

So..put a new bolt in it and away we go..but thought you might get a kick out of it. Make sure you get those bolts all tight, they are kinda important!! :D

so that was you huh?...........................................................................................:hillbilly:

glad you got home and figured it all out!! any damage to your rim or caliper?

Wow! I bet that would get youre attention, glad it wasnt anything major.

Rim has a new little groove in it, but nothing else and the caliper has shiny bit on the shoulder but they are just pure iron back there anyway. So no damage other than my pride! :)

Did buy a daily driver/beater though, so the Cruzr will be more of a weekend toy now...12 mpg vs 30+...easiest $1800 I have spent. (93 Prizm/Corolla)
