For a 62, get the heavy front springs. You will thank me later.

kurt...I just ordered my ome today.....www.cruiseroutfitters.com (ask for Kurt), had the heavy duty ultimate package for $1438.50....200 bucks cheaper than the closest....not too shabby. I will be running 33x11.50.

with that lift you have a choice of firm shocks or softer(better ride on road). I went with the heavy duty package on the advice from CSA...he made some good points in response to one of my threads. Just think of the heavy duty(+or- 50 bucks more than light duty) as an insurance policy. you just never know when that bull bar and winch will go on>>>>

I recently finished my 4" alcan lift and did a some sort of write up, which I need to finish and possibly tidy up. Might help you some:

The Alcan lift goes on the same as the OME. Feel free to ask any questions. Biggest issue and drag for me was being by myself 90% of the time, being outside, having small kids, and rust/being lazy.

Getting the stuff off is the biggest pain, use cut off wheels and a sawzall and lots of PB blaster and a little plumbing torch(which I should have used). It can be done in a good weekend with help and the right tools. (Took me a few months :) )

i just got a complete heavy kit with bushings, shocks, u-bolts, anti inversion shackles, pins, steering stabilizer etc. for 1200.00 from toyota of dallas...talk to chris.

kurt, when my gets here i'll take some pics and send them to you with a write up. I'll include my phone# so if you have any questions you can call.

like said above go with the heavy fronts. I have the light front springs and now I want to change out. the front sits a bit low for me, and when i put a ARB bumper on with a winch, the light springs wont cut it.

You can buy the extra leaves and put them in to upgrade the capacity.

OME isnt the only option. I have Alcan's and I am very happy with them. You can get them any way you want since they are custom made. Search around a little there are quite a few options out there.

My Dakar Experience

I went with the dakar set up back in Feb. 05 and love it! Went with 1.5" longer shackles than the kit came with for more room and went heavy all the way around. Running 33x9.5's at the moment. The job was a lot easier than I had expected. Make sure you soak all the bolts with PB or something to help with removal. Oh yeah, two floor jacks really make the job easier too.

No Rust and a small plumbers torch along with other proper tools make the job easy. :)

sounds like the more economical way to go for me as well!

Definately not more economical. If you buy the light/med packs for lets say $150 and want to upgrade later, then you'll have to pay $50 for the extra leaf plus shipping again. If anything, buy the heavy packs and remove one leaf until you are ready for the extra capacity.

It is econonomical for him, he already has a light duty lift. This way he will not have to buy all new spring packs.
