To all those with OME suspension experience:

I'm looking at buying a set of used OME springs/shocks with about 25,000 miles on them, with only occasional mild off road use. How many miles are you getting out of your Old Man Emu springs and shocks? Obviously it depends on usage/abusage, but a ballpark figure would help me spend my money wisely. Thanks

i dont know about longevity on OME's, but i know its a PITA to do a spring changeover. not hard work, but a lot of time, especially if you have no one to help, like me.
unless they are dirt cheap, or free, i'd save some more and buy new. As to what kind, everyone has their own favorites. I just bought OEM stuff, fine for me, and i can beat the p*** out of them
hammer

I think I have seen 100K thrown around but also heard of more, but certainly not less. SOrry no personal experience here.

It may be more a matter of time, not miles; witness the stock springs:no matter how the truck is driven, all the stock springs that came on a FJ 60 are now 19+ years old, and they all seem to be totally drooped-out at this point in time.

Thanks for the feedback. At this point it doesn't matter because somebody bought the entire parts rig before I had a chance to take a look at the springs/shocks. I'll probably just buy new, then I'll know what I'm getting.
