Very Very surprised at how much more I liked the new FJ after
checking it out up close and taking it for a spin.
More room in the back seat than I had expected after
reading posts here.
Rode and handled very well.
It was bigger than I thought it would be.
Other than just about being able to twist the front
bumper into a pretzel it was very solidly built.
I agree with one particular comment I've read here ... .this
unit is just not going to be right for my wife and many other
drivers. Either you know how to use mirrors or you will
have a very difficult time with lane changes to the right
on the highway. I did not anticipate needing to to change
lanes and when I had to on relatively short notice, I told the
salesman "I am 90% sure there is no car over there."
Stevinson Toyota in West Denver got 8 in last week and
and had just sold the last available one on Monday. The
black cherry one I drove (and really did like a LOT) was
the last one so it was a "no sale" demo. They have
a black and yellow one arriving shortly and offered to make
one of those the demo and sell the b cherry one if I wanted.
Technically not over MSRP but they are getting these things
loaded and adding from there. The three I saw on the lot
all had very nice TRD chrome wheels and nice tires. Came
to about 35K. The salesman (Kirk) was very knowledgeable
(owns a 40). Another fella said other dealers were asking
5K over retail and I said well they are here too but at least
you get $1000 worth of accessories ... salesman laughed and
said you're getting FIVE thousand worth of accessories.
It was a badass rig but it is just not right for
us right now.
Those of you that want / have ordered / have bought one, I
totally understand !!!
Cheers
