I've been worried about this for a while as well, i have a 92 and my oil pressure is always low, i talked to my local trusted mechanic and he pulled up the reccomended oil pressure for the 3FE and his computer said that safe oil pressure is anywhere from 4psi to i think 20psi? It would be nice to find some kind of gauge that screws into the sending unit hole to find out exactly where the pressure is at, something like a tire pressure gauge, from what i've been told the stock Toyota gauge is notorious for being inaccurate, Brad.

Hmmm....just to throw my .02 cents in. My oil pressure guage was reading really low, like almost down to the very bottom line as in 0 oil pressure at idol. I couldn't figure it out, but knew i had a small oil leak. Come to find out the back of my valve cover was loose, thus causing the oil leak. Tightened it up and now the oil pressure is perfect. So i guess check to make sure you don't have any leaks.
