have a 60 that the oil pressure reads at the line of high. and i have a 62 that reads at the line before low. guys that have 62's what do you guys see at the gage? seen problems with pressure regulators or releif valves faulty? with good oil and filled to the top. thanks

My 1988 62 with decent compression (135-140 psi, I think) reads a just a hair above the middle line when it's filled with good oil.
Not sure if that helps or not, but that's what I see ... It doesn't seem to change all that much, either.

thank you! thats where it should be more or less but mine reads way below that; thanks.

I recently picked up a '88 62 that had the same problem (guage read less than 1/4 at highway speed, with fresh oil). I went down to Autozone and picked up a new oil pressure sensor for around $26.00. After I installed the new sensor the guage reads around 2/3, under the same conditions.

yeap, thanks; i did think about that but wanted some suggestions; thanks a lot!!

Shares the same sender as a lot of Toyota cars,Camry,Corrola ect of the same year. Its a 60 psi unit

You'll find on a few links here the discussion of oil thickness and the oil pressure you generate. If you are uncomfortable with you pressure reading so high use a lighter weight oil?

there are two wires on your sending unit. One is the actual gauge wire that goes in the center of the sending unit. The other wire is off set and is a male spade terminal.Make sure you have a good ground at that tab or it will read high...
