Oil pressure needle is not accurate !!

Hi all
I recently noticed that my oil pressure gauge/needle is being funky.
In hard acceleration the needle goes all the way to the ¾ and when I ease on gas and doing 65ish on the freeway it’ll come down at little less than half way , these are normal , but recently I have notice when I turn the car off the needle takes about 5 minuets to come all the way down , is this normal? Is it because of the heat ? any thought and comment would be appreciated

There has been talk about this before. Mine isn't always accurate at idle, will show almost zero at times. I'd replace the oil pressure sending first if you think the gauge is inaccurate.

that is the way my 99 works... I think it is normal.

Normal.

If you are worried, put a mechanical gauge where the stock one goes and see what type of pressures you are getting.

The Toyota ones are very simple and sometimes rather dumb.

Basically the same behavior, with variations, on every Cruiser I own. I think the gauges are more for indication rather than accurate measurement.
