I have a 2000 tundra V8. LOW miles. changed the oil and filter tonite for the first time. if i read the manual correctly it said with a filter i needed 6.4 qts. I added that and the oil lvl showed crazy high on the dipstick. this was after i started the truck to be sure the filter was full. ended up draining .5 -.75 of a qt out. did i misread the fluid cap. or what? wondering if maybe there was a misprint in the manual? can one of you fellow "mudders" shed some light on this for me. thx in advance.

If you pulled the engine out and hung it upside-down for a few days, you'd probably get that much out. But generally there's always some caught in the engine "nooks and crannies" that you can't get it totally empty.
