god, if only they made invisible ones. Day two and tired of all the dumb ?'s and confused looks.

As far as performance, i was surprised. I was after the cooling aspect and honestly if I didnt have the blower I would not have done this mod. I got to take it up into the hills a bit on sunday night, far enough to find out where steves been hiding out and see the latest local 80 score.

What i noticed:

Ran on average 4 degrees cooler, 188 is my normal running temp and was pinned on 184
throttle response much improved; soon as you manipulate the pedal, downshifts and accels immediately (no more feathering for a downshift)
Pulls harder, longer; that is it will grab 3rd and hold it till your done with it (or the cop says stop)
Doesnt feel any faster, but it gets up to same speed using less RPM

first two are most noticeable and impressive

J, I gotta admit that snorkel looks really ill on your truck man..

dude I love it. but if I ever catch you working on my rig barefoot I'm gonna toss you out of the garage. Nice to know that JP has some competition though. :grinpimp: very cool job though. when are we going to get those body lifts done?

Jason.... which thread did you get the instructions from?

And how the hell did you get your arm in that whole. I just took Jason's off of the parts truck and could barely get my hand in that whole let alone my whole arm to get the back bolts. I had to just about take the whole fender off.

I have Georges ( http://george4wd.taskled.com/snorkel.html ) and Safari's two sets of printed instructions. I used georges over safari's.

yeah it aint easy, hence the sprawl over the engine bay to get in there with room to bend your elbow back.
Get to do it all over again after ripping the snorkel from the A pillar on a snow run.

Dont know if your big ole sandwich clamps will even fit in there, might be time to bribe a skinny dude.

Jason where did you get the Safari ones from. Are they available online for printing.

I think it came in the box. Your welcome to it. They sucked compared to Georges walkthru writeup.

much like the FSM or FAQ for a knuckle rebuild, ill take the anecdoted one compiled from experience.

Can you fax... I agree on the instructions, but it is always better to have two different ones to look at.

man if only there was a way. like a huge database of knowledge; accessible to everyone. ;)
then throw in a couple G's a couple O's an L and an E and viola.....

Safari - Snorkels

thats what came in the box right there, hope it helps. Good luck getting to those back two studs.
I cant believe I got to take the whole thing off to fix the A pillar mount. :(
