All,

Is anyone interested in a quick trip down to the Pearl after work today, say 5:30?

I may run down there with my K-9 for a bit and play. Probably won't get into anything crazy, just take the trail to the beach and hang for a bit.

Let's ROLL!

I'm out.

FYI it was pretty slipery last night. Barry and I got in to a little pickle there around dark:30. IIWY I wouldn't go solo.

I think I may change my mind. I'm not worried about the pickle, cuz of Gregs new road.
I'd like to bring my canoe and run up to the lowhead dam and see if any striped bass are running. I caught one recently there. Call me when you get off work and I'll let you know.
Kinda depends on how the grading is going.

Will do, I'd like to roll out there with the dog and maybe even run my canoe a little bit, too. Barry, what's your number?

Anyone else in for a ride, if nothing else?

I was just thinking- it would be really cool to have the Tuesday night meeting actually out on the sandbar. A few of you would have to get your tires dirty, but it would be COOL to see 7 or 8 trucks down there.

anyone wanna have it on the sand bar? great idea!! You'll be driving over here anyway. It's only a stones throw from the grill.

Really, if we had the meeting on the sandbar, everyone would be able to get down there with nothing but muddy tires, unless they wanted to hit the serious stuff. I managed to keep the truck pretty clean until after we left the sandbar and I got a little more ballsy. What does everyone else think? It's really cool down there, plus we are a truck club, not a Porsche club. It would give everyone a chance to hang out around the trucks, too!

What does everyone think? We could cook out and be out of there right at dusk.

That was a bit dissapointing. The road was blocked by a couple of SUV's too afraid to go any further. Owners nowhere to be seen. Too many trees immediatley on either side to go around. I tried......

Well, if you want to try and have a grill/mtg on the sandbar we could ride down tomorrow. Those who don't feel like driving could ride with those who want to.

Next time hook a tow strap to their bumper and pull them out of the way like we did last night when I was about to slide into the tree. When they are out of the way back up to them in 2wd and take off. Throw mudd all over them.

All those people just parking out front like that is going to mean a lockdown pretty soon. Enjoy it while you can, and watch for cops.

They were down in there. On the road. They went as far as they dared, then parked it.

Is there a possibility of anyone going to jail for wheeling down there? I'm all for it but I'm not going to jail for that funky ass mud!

Later,

Yeah, it was a buzzkill seeing two 2wd grocery getting SUV's parked right in the middle of the trail. Unfortunately, we had no right to bust their balls about blocking us. I am sure they assumed that no one was CRAZY enough to go any further.

As far as being down there, I grew up wheeling, camping and hunting down there by the river. I have only heard of people down by Lakeland being run off once. No one gets arrested, just told to leave. As long as you aren't shooting guns or throwing out trash, you are fine. The only people who come down to the river are Game Wardens, but they won't go anywhere they have to get out of their truck at- down by Lakeland and the 80 bridge where people fish for radioactive crappie.

I go to bed at 10:00 and get REAL cranky when woken up. Get stuck early.
