Been a while, but we just finished an epic trip through the Arizona Strip/North Rim. ~450 miles of very remote offroad in Parashant-Grand Canyon National Monument, Grand Canyon National Park, Mt Logan Wilderness, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Camped on the rim of the Grand Canyon every night - simply amazing:

In this one above, if you look close enough near the center of the pic, you can see our campsite at Whitmore Point. Big country, needless to say.

I'll post a full trip report when I get time.

Excellent pics. To anyone who’s been there, it’s no wonder they call it the “Grand Canyon”.

Few shots of the Beast with her new CBI sliders and bumper.

Is there rust or something inside the receive that makes lean when you tighten it up?
I took a closer look this weekend -- there's no obstruction. My receiver is actually tilted a few degrees within the assembly. I only noticed upon tightening the bike carrier because it was effectively "squaring" itself to the crooked receiver (and the wide straight lines of the rack make it more apparent).

Fortunately I don't care very much -- as long as it's not a functional/safety issue or user error on my part.

Some fun on the sand with the wife and kids. I was nervous as it’s the first time on the sand with the big girl, but I have to say, it ate that beach up so easily..

Traction off, VSC off, normal drive mode and locked to second gear, effortless. All of us were blown away. We have both been in heaps of different cars on the sand, and couldn’t believe it.

Just had a week in the new / current BMW X7 M6.0i. Now I know this shouldn’t be compared to a 2016 LX570, as they are super different, but it was a very interesting experience.

It rides on 22’s, has a combined 390kw and 950nm, and it is a tech masterpiece. Oh, and it costs $235k + on roads in Australia. Good lord.

It accelerates violently, from anywhere, but at 2.5 tonne weight it’s most impressive from rolling from 30kmh or so, or overtaking, then it’s pretty mind blowing. The massage chairs are epic, need them now somehow haha!

BUT! I would still prefer the LX, and am looking forward to picking mine up this week and being back in my lounge chair. This thing has cured my need for more power, as that actually gets old quick.. As does the twitchy suspension and hard ride.

If they were the same price, I would choose the LX, and considering I bought mine for a fraction of a cost, and the interior is quieter, more luxurious feeling, and the car is SO MICH MORE GODDAM CAPABLE, I would never make the switch in a million years.

Happy Sunday crew

Add a Harrop 2650, injectors, and tune to your LX if you want to know what the 570 stands for....it's the horsepower it's supposed to have from the factory🏋️‍♂️

In Oz there is only one person who seems to be properly tuning them, and they are thousands of km from me..

Plus, with all of the insurance issues, probably easier and same total cost to just put a 7.0l striker kit in.

Absolutely sublime ride up to Paradise Divide from Slate River Rd outside Crested Butte. But sadly snowpack was still too deep to continue through Schofield Pass.

More photos from beautiful Crested Butte. What an incredible place. Please forgive the “Dada loves 3 monkeys” note and handprints my girls wrote into the dust on the back.
