I used to go out there frequently, too. It's been a while now. It's about 45min to 1hr from me.
The trail with the ledges & switchback (some locals called it Rock Garden Road) was a fun spot... especially when wet! (Got caught on it in a major T-storm there once, the creek was massively swollen by the time we had to cross
).
Too bad they closed the mines: that was a nice cool spot for lunch.
If some people from my club come out on your ride, I hope to ride shotgun (my Cruiser is not legal). Hope ta see ya soon!

Hey Guys,
If there is enough intrest here with other crusier heads we can work out a date. I am thinking the 1st or second weekend in october. I would suggest that if we have six or more trucks going we split up on the trails. Most of the trails anything more 4 tends to just cause congestion.
The trail that we took the pictures on is known as Hawkins Hollow Trail by the locals. It runs from the top of a ridge down to what was the town of Hampton PA. It's pretty much a ghost town with just foundations left.
As for the guy in the helmet we had some quads go with us.
