Has anyone who has messed with adding a different sub or retrofitted a larger sub into the OEM box tried to figure out the volume?

I am in the process of upgrading the installer was trying to see if anyone knew off hand.

TIA

I got an estimate yesterday...
They will install the amp in the space of the old subwoofer, and install the subwoofer box somewhere in the rear cargo area. They suggested a volume control installed near the driver to control subwoofer volume.

I've got a 10" sub in the trunk behind a 3rd row with the amp mounted under the 3rd row. I'm probably going to remount the amp where the old sub speakers were though and take out the 3rd row, put the sub behind the 2nd row, and somehow rewire it to look pretty. I've got a knob up near the stereo to control volume and I also have the bass boost on the sub turned to about 4db. Sounds great and has excellent control within reach.

It was not easy though and probably less than ideal. Someday I may toy with making a new enclosure, but I refuse to allocate any more storage space to a subwoofer. See the last page of the link Bama provided for how I did mine
