It can , you would need to shorten the steering shaft 30mm, install a bracket and possibly a pulley for a PS pump

I have a 2f from a FJ60 and a pump for it.

I just need to figure the gearbox. What type of bracket are you suggesting?

9/72 the steering box changed. Prior to that date the column was part of the steering box. Believe the pedestal on the frame changed as well. The entire column including opening in the firewall changed. Easier to install in 73 plus models (9/72). Anything is possible but the 79+ power steering is really the same as the 73+ models except the steering box is longer and shaft in the column is a little shorter.

Thanks for the update, so a mini truck box with a Dory bracket might be better for a 72 and earlier, and cheaper too. I have a couple of mini truck boxes also
