OEM copy front grill for 03-05

Ran across this on eBay the other day and thought the price was interesting since it is significantly lower than OEM grill:

I thought it was the OEM part at first but it turns out all parts sold by this seller are OEM copies made in Taiwan. Has anyone tried one of these out? It seems like they could be great for an inexpensive grill mod without needing to permanently modify the OEM grill.

I saw that one and a black one in the 2006-7 style. Said it fits 98-02 models. Looked real nice in black with the large emblem included.

I figured they may have confused the model years on the new style so I didn't order one.

Dang my grill is cracked... I sure would love an updated look if it fit the older ones like mine...

Edit: per TLC FAQ looks like this grill would just slip right onto any truck from '98-'05. (Fourth paragraph down: http://tlcfaq.com/main/tag/grill/)

I saw there were others listed as similar to that ebay listing that look like the same part from Taiwan but at about $60. I think I'll have to pick one of these up also within the next couple months to see how they stack up to the OEM grill. If you pick one up, please add to this thread to give your impression of it.

I don't have any experience with the ebay grill or the ebay seller.

However a few years ago I bought an aftermarket oem-looking grill for a different vehicle. It looked pretty good right out of the box but it was cheaply made and the chrome started to flake off after a short time. Basically, it was crap.

Thanks for the input. These probably have a cheap coating too given the price. Might be good to modify and plasti-dip only.
