Hey yall,

Last night I was commuting home and at the 13th mile my truck made a weird whining noise. It sounds almost like a siren and is loud enough to notice over the speakers.

This morning I was about 13 miles into my commute and it started again.

Here's what I know;

Is not rpm dependant.
Occurs both under power and coasting.
Peaks as brakes are applied.
Progressively louder until 40ish mph, then stays the same.
Loudest right before complete stop.
Easier to hear if passenger window is down.

I know;
Driver wheel bearing is on its way out, passenger was tight and smooth.
Needs alignment.

What do you all think?

Googled it throughout class, which was extremely boring and not worth the $$$ I pay to attend, and am going to blame it on the wheel bearing.

Anyone have a good write up for these? My assumption is I'd need a decent size press to get them out.

Drove home tonight.12 miles in noise is there but fainter. Constant, but not nearly as loud.

Today it went insane. Lifted up the front and it is most certainly a bad wheel bearibg on both sides.

So, what type of vehicle is this?

Well, its the bearings.

What sucks is... the new Toyota ones were supposed to be in this morning but never showed up. Next available day is Tuesday. Gonna be truckless for a few days.

glad to hear its fixed .if i were to suspect a bearing failure or anything dragging (brakes etc)anywhere on my rig i would feel the bearing houseing (or calipars ,rotor)just after driveing,pretty easy to tell whats up .
