My cruiser set for a couple weeks while I was out of the country. Today when I went to back out with a warm engine, I felt a "clunk" and my CE light along with vs lights came on. I was just starting to back up when it happened. I honestly thought my transmission crapped out since it was in limp ,mode and would barely pull back into my parking spot.
After I turned it off, and back on, it drove fine but still had CE and VSC lights on. autozone scanned it and I got P1120 which THEIR paperwork says is "coolant flow control valve" issues/stuck/short.
10 mins later the CE Lights went off on their own.

From what I have read here, it sounds more like a dirty throttle body or throttle position sensor rather than coolant valve (whatever that is). I will clean the throttle body and linkage firsts since I don't know the history prior to me buying it with 152k miles. It now has 167k.
Any thoughts?

P1120 should be the TPS code. Not necessarily the TPS but a TPS code. My guess if it had been sitting is it may be the TPS or may be a generally sticky or worn out throttle body. I just posted my 2c here earlier today: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=8896939&postcount=18

I would keep running it and see how often and which codes come up before throwing parts at it. Limp mode at least works to get out of traffic and a re-boot will often fix it temporarily. Good luck with it

Just for the fun of it, if you haven't checked for a mouse nest under the intake manifold, see what's there. If the truck sat for while, a rodent might have chewed through some wires, in particular the knock sensor wires. That may not throw the TPS 1120 code, but the symptoms indicate a possibility for rodent damage? And, get your own $40 scanner and use Google for the Toyota codes. Seems like bum advice you got from Autozone?

Thanks for the reply. I cleaned the MAF today (not related) and cleaned the throttle body as best as I could without completely removing it. The butterfly was pretty dirty around the edges. I also replaced the PCV valve (also not related) since I had the engine cover off. I did get a chunk of carbon out from inside the tube where the PCV tube connect to the top of the intake.
I then ran some sea foam through the intake to decarbon a bit.
Since the CEL went off by itself I'm not overly worried about it for now. I'll keep an eye on things and mess with it more later if any problems arise.
