Yeah, kind of like that!

Sweet!!! Gotta love Caryville :)

Great job again with the pics and videos Andy! Looking forward to the next wheeling trip...hopefully we will have your 40 out there.

That concludes my media coverage. Awesome trip guys. Glad to see that place hasn't changed much. A lot of memories from Caryville. And many more to come. I'm still impressed with how Nik handled the 40 without powersteering. Almost made it look like a non-issue. And all I can say about the wagons...."Damn '80's." Making it look easy and comfortable. Yes. I'm jelly bruh.

Wow. After my last trip to Sandmines I said no thanks. It just looks terrible and seems to be getting worse.
That's what it's all about!! Good times and rough trails.......

I just can't do it. I spend way too much time repairing, fixing, and riding dirt bikes and mountain bikes. The last thing I want to do is add another vehicle to the never ending list of things to do. The 80 still serves a lot of family duties and I just don't want to drive around in a beat up 80 or have it down for repairs. It is a shame that our topography lends its self to such rapid erosion. I went up the sandmines for the first time in the fall of 2009 and that was when my 80 was bone stock and with ATs. Can't say I would make it under those same conditions now. :(

Don't get me wrong, I love riding the hardest moto trails I can find. In fact, I found sandmines on my dirt bike. However, I guess its a fine line between having some challenging trails to run versus wearing out a trail and ultimately having trails closed because some bureaucrat deems how I recreate based on the defense of water quality. :( :(

I'm wondering if the trail you took your "moto" on when you discovered this area was off exit 141. We took the trail that leads from old hwy 63. Seems like that trail has been close to the same for 10-15 years. I don't think any of us set out to damage our vehicles it's just a by product of how we wheel.

One of our guys drove his rig which still sits at stock height , I don't recall any major damage occurring to his rig.

Don't let the thought of little damage hold you back-

Ive ridden both sides of sandmines many times on my moto. I found the south side, through the creek first. No way i want to damage my 80 as did the guy who put that rock in his rear pillar. Last time i did the run a buddy damaged his Jeep top by the same very rock. Like i said i still use my 80 for family trips to the beach and camping.
