Just back in the US from a month trip to oz. Spent 2 weeks in the west oz bush about 400km east of Perth.

I was in my old patrol and a mate was in his (relatively) new 78 series troopie with the V8 tdi engine. Total trip was about 1800km.

Do you ever feel inadequate with the 1VD-FTV engine around you?





God...I gotta win the lotto and retire to Ozzie-land and bring CDan with me.

The V8 TDI is a very nice modern diesel engine, lots of power/torque, very quiet and great economy. Just a bit scary just how much electronics/pipes/plumbing and 'stuff' it all entails versus old school diesel. I know which engine I'd rather have if crossing a lot of mud/water...
