A must for anyone running without cats on an SC, turbo, or upgraded exhaust to avoid a cat efficiency OBD2 code.

I use it on my 96 Land Cruiser.

Install near the ECU. Red is 12V, black is ground. Cut the OXY2 signal wire at the ECU and the white wire on the O2 sim goes into the ECU. Red LED indicates power on, blue LED indicates simulated O2 signal pulse. Can also be verified with an OBD2 diagnostic like Torque Pro or similar.

The rear O2 sensor can be zip tied out of the way. Or if you want to go further you can wire in a 20watt 20ohm resistor in place of the rear O2 to duplicate the heater circuit. Then you could remove the rear O2 completely. The ECU still monitors the heater circuit in addition to the OXY2 signal.

What is the heater circuit used for?

Is there any reason the O2 sensor couldn't be left in place with this mod? I'd like to have everything still appear stock for inspection.

It doesn't matter where the rear o2 is.

I'm not sure why you would want a simulator if you are leaving the rear o2 in place though.

Thanks for the reply. Need to keep it looking (relatively) stock underneath in order to pass the visual inspection for smog certification. Plus the idea of having it zip-tied to the frame rail just doesn't appeal to me, and I would have to come up with a way to block off the hole in the exhaust.

The point of the O2 sim is to delete your cats if you are running a test pipe or upgrading your exhaust without cats.

If you still have the cats theres really no point in buying an O2 sim.
