Hi everyone,
I’ve been fighting a CEL light for a few months. It started with the notorious EFI circuit issue that ended with a new fuse box getting installed. Everything works fine now, but after the CEL came up with P0141 (bank 1 sensor 2 o2 sensor heater circuit). Even after replacement of that sensor (with a denso sensor) the code came back. Unfortunately during the trouble shooting phase of the EFI circuit issue we hot wired the EFI circuit to see if the engine would start. It did, but immediately a wire under the car started smoldering. Turns out this wire was part of the o2 sensor wiring harness. The mechanic located the stretch of wire that was damaged and replaced it with the same gauge. CEL still comes back and with the same code. I’m thinking either A) the new wire and the splice have changed the resistance in the circuit and is causing the issue or B) there’s more damaged sections of wire that we couldn’t see.
I wanted to see if anyone has ever replaced the entire o2 sensor harness? Is it one harness for all 4 sensors or does each bank have a separate harness? I could not find this info anywhere. Local shop wasn’t much help.
Appreciate any thoughts on this topic.
