After some very hard trying  Very Hard(I dont see a sarcasm smiley) I would like to attempt to run the 2f in my 60. NV4500's seem to bring top buck and I really like the np435. Does anyone make an adapter for this tranny to bolt up to a 2F. Thanks

Dennis

just bolt the ford 300ci in with it, you will get all the things people try to adapt onto the 2F: electronic ignition, fuel injection, more power, and better fuel economy. AND STILL AN I6! just kidding, but worth a thought.
try Advanced Adaptors or Novak.
good luck, carl

Ferd parts are not too common for swaps into a 2F.

SM420/465's are cheaper and plentiful. I would actually be suprised if you could find an adapter between the 435 and the stock tcase as well

well I think I have an owner for my 2f as long as it passes a compression test this weekend. So 300 I6 it will be along with a np435 trans and a 203/np205 doubler with a chevy drop, yeah go figure I find all the ford stuff I need purchase everything, sell my suburban with a great running 350tbi/700r4 and then I come up on a set of chevy one ton axles 60front/14 bolt rear with 4.56 gears and detroits in both cases go figure. So I will have a 300I6/NP205/203 pass drop doubler with 4.56 gears. Anyone have a calculator, talk about a crawlratio, with all luck it will be ready by summer time. Can't wait this fall to go out wheelin' its going to be fun. HAS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE RUN A 300 I6 np435 combo, I am interested to see. Let me know, I would love to see what they think of it.

Why not run a 302 or 351 if you are going to a ferd motor?

Or a 390 truck motor? Way better then the 302 or 351. I have one in my 75 F350 and it is a great engine, and very reliable. Gets fair milage too out of it (averaged 10mpg on a 140mi trip, half of the trip empty and half of the trip with two cords of wood on it). I love the NP435 in it too. Great tranny.

That said, I have an adapter for the split to SM465 and that is the route I am going in my FJ60.

I love the 300I6 torque is nearly the same as the v8's in most applications little lighter on weight, and much of the powerband is down low where you need it. I would take a well built 300 I6 over a v8 anyday of the week. Hence owning a 80 series right now. I6 motors are the way to go, when the v8 goes out on my 4door bronco conversion It will be getting a cummins i6 as well.
