I've been driving on shot rotors for almost 2 years now. I don't really want to put any more cash into the 89, but on Friday the brakes got really bad. I finally replaced the rotors yesterday and today. Only paid $25 per rotor and like 13 for the pads.
I did the driver's side first, and I assumed I could pull the wheel studs thru when I tighten down the lug nuts. That didn't work so I ended up tearing it apart again and replacing the boogered up wheel studs. Driver's side only had 5 anyways. The new ones were about impossible to get pounded in, but I got em. The passenger side went nice and smooth, took only about 2 hours. I used an open ended lug nut and a socket to smash out the old studs without damaging them. Overall the job was well worth the trouble, and way overdue.
