Anyway i'm going to drop this and try not to mention anything negative about NC in any of my posts anymore.![]()
Probably the best bet. We natives are sensitive to transplants telling us how good things are where they come from, and the usual response is "I95 runs North too you know?". Not used to hearing from anyone from Cali, but the same theory aplies. Until you've lived the life of a native NCian, it's hard to describe just how annoying this very issue gets. The state hasn't been flooded with transplants for no reason - we must have been doing something right in the first place.
I get your point, we would all love some better flowing roads, and I rarely have to deal with Raleigh traffic, much less Charlotte. But, when you live in one of the two biggest cities in the state, it comes with the territory. I thought the high speed train had really helped things down there - but I don't have a clue other than feedback from people who live there. The problem with NC metro areas is that we grow out, instead of up - a model far less desirable for traffic engineers. Everyone wants to work a good job in the city, but still wants that 1/2 acre and 3,000 ft^2 house and a 10min commute. It just doesn't work.
