Hi All,

Bought this over the summer and have been throwing money at it since. Recently did the desmog on it (kept the HAC) and some other work including replacing the vinyl on the seats and doing some cleaning. Was going to start working on some body issues but can't find any place that color matches rattle cans. Any ideas? Tried PPG but to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome, nice 60! Come join us at the Fall Crawl later this week.

Very nice truck!

Bob's right (just this once). You should bring that up to Rausch Creek. We'll give you some more body issues to work on. :)

Cruiser Corps had the right paint in rattle cans last time I looked. Not cheap. But right

I guess if it already needs body work, might as well go big. However, my desmog has caused some vacuum leak and my weekend is going to be spent looking for it. Thanks though, looking forward to catching the next one!

Expensive but no one else around does it

It's in old town Herndon not far from the Anita's New Mexican Food - best breakfast Burrito's ever!

It's a Great auto parts store, near the best DC area barber shop - Dulles Park Barbers and a decent gun store called Nova Armament next to the barbershop that has a 4Runner with a TLCA sticker on it. There is also a good welding shop and a decent body shop back there.

Went there this weekend and they made up two rattle cans of desert beige. Pretty close to original. Incredibly helpful staff, but unfortunately they were saying they are being taken over by another company starting today. He said it would be a paint store? Hopefully it will be an automotive paint store, but its a shame that I just learned about them this week. Anyway, thanks again.

Well that's a bummer! another old school store bites the dust. I'll ask the old school cars guys if they know of another place. I think that might be the last one that did that - anyone? Bueller? Pretty soon everything will be a big box chain store around here - that seems to be direction that things are going.

Maybe there is an online source?

I've seen threads about this before, maybe do a search?

Last time I had it done was about nine years ago at dolphin auto in alexandria

Address: 5750 General Washington Dr # H, Alexandria, VA 22312
Phone: (703) 750-0985

they might not do it any more - this type of business has been shut down by the EPA

You can do it DIY with kits from POR or KBS Coatings 52050: 3 Step Gas Tank Sealer Kit Coats up to a 12 Gallon Tank | JEGS

I know a guy who took an clothes washer and used the agitator to swish the tank to the left and right with chains inside it along with what ever else was handy. It worked very well - sort like the same way a rock tumbler polishes rocks.

60 series peoples - is the gas tank recall still a thing that is happening?

Check with your dealer. Might be able to get a free one.

Yea they will replace the tank under the recall if it has not already been replaced.

There is a web sight that will tell you off the the VIN.

Burl called on his other 62 2 years ago and they said to bring it in.
