At Ali's suggestion I have been recording different temperatures for the 80. I bought a cheap Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer at Wally World. I am sure that it is not entirely accurate, but that doesn't matter too much as long as it is consistent. I went out yesterday to accumulate miles for my oil change, we went to Espanola and then the back way to Taos. From Taos to Los Alamos, to Jemez Springs to Rio Rancho, and finally home. I bought the thermometer in Taos, so that is where the measurements began.

4:47pm
87F Intake Air Temperature (IAT)
76.2F Air Box Temperature (ABT)

5:15pm
83F IAT
72.2 ABT

6:12pm
76F IAT
80F ABT

7:16pm
58F IAT
80F ABT

8:15pm
76F IAT
69F ABT
--------------
Other measurements:

9:18pm
45 minutes after engine was turned off:
Outside Temp 53F
Airbox Temp 105F

5:50am
Outside Temp 40.7F
Airbox Temp 50F
Intake Air Temp 49F

6:02am
After ~10 min of freeway speed:
Airbox Temp 50.1F
Intake Air Temp 62F
Water Temp 177F

Interesting numbers but we need some hot days...ok, now stick them in a Spreadsheet so that we can do a statistical analysis later :flipoff2:

Well, at least the project is done. A long road finally completed. And both of us learned a whole hell of a lot about the 1FZ engine (indeed). Hope I don't have to do that job anytime soon.

Now, Onur's truck goes down for some R & R. New TRE's today and the awesome JDM auxiliary fan were installed today. Gotta love CDan JDM finds.

Next on the list:

1. Rear axle rebuild (new rotors and pads as well)
2. Pull radiator and check. Probably will have it rodded and cleaned out.
3. New PS vane pump. New high/low pressure lines. PS cooler will be added.
4. Water/weather proof fuse box will be added to the engine compartment.
5. Underhood light (good idea Rory/Ali).
6. Pack up the front bearings/check birfs.
7. Coolant flush.
8. Re-line the outside of the rig (heavier coats for a thicker cover)
9. Re-line inside of the rig including interior roof (heavier coats for a thicker cover).
10. I'll probably replace some other things as money provides...
11. Slee 4" Springs.

Cheers.

would like fries with that bar graph?

Bar Graph? We don't want no stinkin' bar graph. We want DATA. We'll do our own (snort) graphs...

Got times, elevations, and ambient temps with those?

J/K - looks like it could be interesting info...

Onur - that should keep you busy for a while!

All worthwhile stuff - got me thinking about all the stuff that I should be doing with my rig...
