I'm about to order the 203/205 doubler kit with the triple sticks from NWF. I've heard nothing but good things about them but just wanted to get some input if anyone had any experience with them or the kit/shifters.

It's been a while since I ordered from them. I got the doubler for an older project. At that time, my experience wasn't that great. I had to pay an additional fee to get the parts through customs (I wasn't informed about the fee), their communication wasn't great, and there were delays that I was never told of.
They are since under new ownership and I've bought from the new owner. Had a pretty good experience the second time around.

How about the kit itself? quaility, included necessary parts, ease of installation, instuctions, etc?

Pretty easy install. All parts were very well done and interlocked nicely. I don't remember if there was instructions or not but it is pretty self explanatory.

Don't know if you've checked it out or not but Offroad Design's adapter is an inch or 2 shorter than NWFs. If you need as short as possible, I think theirs is it.

yeah, i've looked into them too... NWF is having a "sale" right now and this is going in my sixty with a 112" wheelbase so I dont think the inch or two should make much of a difference but I think I might do some more research on them too. I appreciate the info!

I bought my adapter thru them also.... I was told 4-6 weeks and it took around 20 I think, no biggie cause I told I wasn't in a hurry. When I went to bolt it together they sent me a chevy adapter instead of ford. took 3 more weeks for tha plate to come in. He then had me send the chevy plate to another customer & wnated me to chase him for the $15 shipping I paid. I knew about the customs charge having dealt with it before, they said there is rarely a charge.

The quality of the adapter is great except some of the holes aren't aligned very well with the back of the 203 and was a total pain in the ass to install. They stated that there is alot of variance between differnt 203 and this was the problem. I'm not sure if I buy that. One other gripe is that the unused hole is the clocking ring rely on allen head plugs seal in place to eliminate leaks. on the other hand, there are a million ways to clock the t-case and this is nice.

If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with the much cheaper, welded clocking ring adapter. I'm sure they have they're problems too.

NWF has pretty bad customer service, but probably the best adapter out there.

I use to work next door to the boys at NWF, good guys, very young company with all the same struggles.

Kyle is the original owner who developed all the parts(brains behind the scenes), to damn smart for his own good. He is one kid with ideas that just blow my mind on off road parts design, he thinks way outside the box.

His background when he purchased the mill was buidling mountain bike frames, very kool design and did well for a few years until getting into off road stuff.

Top notch products, lead times can sometime be not as advertised, so if your in a big hurry and its not on the shelf, be patient.

You cant beat the stregnth of ORDs billet one piece adaptor. And they can machine them clocked if you want.

I personally know two people that have had this type of problem with the NWF adaptor, Doubler repair - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board

Kinda the same boat as sixty was in as far as clocking... not sure how its all going to pan out yet. Seems like that fix in your link was simple enough... that dude is also running a built 454 and 44s and a love for the go pedal. I've been PMing Kyle on pirate and he's been pretty straight forward about lead times and shipping woes. I'll keep looking around at posts but I think the NWF is looking more and more likely.

In any case I think it'll be a good time to upgrade to 32spline stuff for the outputs on the 205. I don't want to do this again.

One buddy of mine runs a no HP small block and doesnt wheel all that hard.He pulls his junk appart every few times out to tighten all his bolts so he doesnt have a problem like the guy in that post. And yes they loosten no matter what he has tried.

How fun does that sound :D ?

not fun... hmmmmm. Ok back to research.

yep, I love my 4.0 toybox/splitcase but I think it is time to upgrade to 1 ton junk.

Why ... isn't the ToyBox, toyota stuff holding the abuse .. ?

so far so good... but its always in the back of my mind so I lay off the skinny pedal at times. I want to have the confidence to lay down all the throttle (which will be around 360hp and 401ft/lbswhen the motor is done) and not worry about it. The toy stuff is strong and hasnt failed me yet but its time to move on to stronger stuff...especially in my heavy rig. I have most of the 1 ton stuff together and my current toy doubler stuff will help pay for the parts I dont have.

The other reason not to keep the toy stuff is because I'll be running a centered d70hd in the rear. I suppose I could narrow it and offset it to the side but I really dont have any desire to do that when I have 80% of the stuff I need to go 1 ton.

Got it .. thought you are close to the next level ... know it's pretty hard to me get in there .. I like my toy stuff .. some day when I take the V8 way .. maybe you will see me in this section more often .. :D

hijack over !

Spoke with Kyle the other day on this issue, in some cases the 205 was not supported and cause the adapter to strip. The adapter ring was upgraded after a few failures and he mailed them out to everyone with the original thinner unit.
