Okay, so I need to get an idea of the Friday crowd, I have referenced the sticky thread to see who's gonna make it but need to get an idea for Friday's supper plans. Barry and I have discussed purchasing items in bulk at Costco/BJ/Sams or such and putting together a meal (steak's, chicken fajita's, or chili) for the crowd that will be in attendance. Please let me know if everyone is okay with this and splitting the bill on it.

Also I need to get an idea of the caravan so we can get the plans established for meeting destinations for not only the Raleigh/Holly Springs Crowd but also the Triad crowd meeting location (I am positive for that one we will say the first rest area off the 401/40 split heading west on 40). We having a very well planned event and want to make sure to stay on schedule of 11:45 in woods for pre-ride meeting.

Please contact me via PM if you have any questions otherwise let me know your thoughts and who's in.

Greg, Im pretty sure that Jason and I and maybe a couple more will be meeting at the rest stop, maybe J will chime in later with a definite # on how many. I am more than happy to chip in on any food bought for Friday night as well.

I'm in ( hopefully :wrench::bang::wrench: )

Hi Greg,

I will be there with the early Friday Caravan...with a buddy from work towing my 40 :)
I am in for splitting the bill as well..and as mentioned thank you guys for arranging food.

Brad

Count me in Greg.

I was going to make some pasta beforehand and bring it to reheat (it's awesome reheated). If you guys want, I can make several pounds and cook it up Saturday night? Maybe some salad and bread too?

I am meeting up with you guys. I am ok on helping with the bill. Where are we gonna meet up greg? Are you gonna slow it up a bit as you said you were. David will be going with me as well.

I'm in on a group meal.
We have done the spaghetti/pasta thing before and it makes for easy reheats thru the weekend.

Sounds good greg. You guys be sure to add what passengers you have so we can get accurate #'s to plan accordingly. Ryan, is david riding w/ you?

Im in for the meal. I have one guest so two total in my party.

as far as the caravan the triad crowd could convene at the Rest Area just west of the 40/421 split in winston so the triangle group doesnt have to get off the hwy. either that or my place :D

We have S4 cruiser in the middle as well in b'town. If you like just roll up here early and catch up w/ steve and i at my house.

That's my plan right now to meet you and Steve at your house...as long as I can get the :princess: moving early Friday morning :D.

Count me for one.

Joe, for the Holly Springs crowd, what is the convenient location for you all. Is somewhere near 751 work. I discussing this last night and a little today we will have a cut off time due to meeting schedules at final destination.

Alright so as we approach this coming weekend we need to organize the caravan. It appears the total trip for the Triangle crowd is about 5.5 hours and we will be departing no later than 6:15am in the morning out of RTP. We will be meeting the Triad crowd at the location shown below:

Triad-Triangle Meeting Location

EXIT 170 WESTBOUND I-40

It appears it will take us a little over 2 hours and 20 minutes to arrive at above destination and from there we will have another 3 hours and 20 minutes putting us at the final destination around 11:30/11:45am.

We need to make sure to have cut off times in place and one individual responsible for contacting those not their 10 minutes before departure of each location as not to get off schedule.

Also, Tommy Sutton has offered his home in sylva as a location to drop trailers and trucks not going on the ride this is about 10-15 minutes from the trail head and if we chose to use this option we need to adjust the times accordingly. I have his address should we choose to do this.

PLEASE THOSE AT THE BP MEETING THE TRIANGLE GROUP HAVE YOUR VEHICLES FULL OF FUEL SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO MOVE ON.

Hey Greg, somewhere along I-40 west of Raleigh should be fine for us? Maybe towards RTP? We can all just meet out there somewhere, I suppose those in the RDU area will be coming from all directions. I'd say just set a meeting time/loc on I-40 and we'll all be there.

Greg, just to clarify.

RDU and GSO group are meeting up at exit 170 at a BP is it? not the rest area at mile marker 177 mentioned in the first post. NCDOT Rest Area System: Map Details. Just want to make sure were all aiming for the same place and its large enough w/ easy reentry to 40.

THAT IS CORRECT EXIT 170 at the BP, this gives the Raleigh Crowd a chance to top off so we have no stops between Mocksville and Sylva.

Maybe we should do just one meeting point in GSO in the interest of time? We could skip meeting in RDU if we are going to ride an hour and stop / meet another group anyway... thoughts?
