Hello all,

Been driving and loving our new-to-us 2008 200 and my wife has brought up a valid point that the seat heaters just don't get nearly as warm as my 2006 100 series or even her now sold 2012 Subaru Outback..

Has anyone else noticed this or is this something I should have looked at?

Both sides seem to warm to the same temp at max and low on the dial knobs. At Max knob setting, neither side gets much warmer past what the LO switch does on my 2006 100.

Not a big deal, just thought I would ask.

We are really loving this rig. They are so darn nice to drive. She is spoilt already.

Just used the seat heaters for the first time yesterday. I agree that they do not seem as warm as they should be although all I can compare to are the heaters in my wife's Infiniti (they'll burn your ass!). Maybe it has to do with the thickness of the leather seat coverings which seem substantial compared to any other vehicle I've owned or driven recently.

I have been test driving a few new ones as I am finally ready to move forward from my 470 of many years to the 200 series.
The seat heaters are very important to me as I have spine injury with chord damage that causes me all kinds of problems in my lower half. The seat heaters are very important to me and the 06 and 07 heaters would get nice and hot and then shut off for a while. The ones in the 570s I drove do not get very hot not as warm as the old ones! I also drive high end rentals often, like BMW and Mercedes and I have found that those also have toned down their heaters. I have a feeling its an issue of fire safety, burned out elements and liability. It seems if we want them hot we have to build our own ones from now on.

Thanks for that comparison view from your experiences...

I also think they must have toned them down for skin burn issues, etc.

I bet the 200 LC has the same seat heater as the LX570....

I had a 2007 Audi RS4 and you could cook an egg on those things!!

It seems like the seat heaters on my 11 LX are not near as hot.

They dont get that hot, but improvement over my 2008 4-Runner. Other cars we have are much better; 2009 M3 and 2013 Acadia. The steering wheel however gets surprisingly toasty.

the heated steering wheel is one of those optoins I thought I would never use... but now that it's winter time, I use it everyday and love it!!!

I love the heated steering wheel.

I drove a 2011 certified for an extended time and the seat heaters did not get very warm. Then I drove a 2014 and the heaters work nice and hot. soooo, maybe years re different or some are broken? I did hav strange issue with my 06 LX 470 as well. these cars are well made but I had a few new ones with gremlins the dealer had a hard time fixing. The details in the 14 are quite a step up to closer resemble a fine European automobile. Toyot is always a little behind on details but this one is great and my wife gave a resounding go ahead so I bought the 2014 570 yesterday!

I have also driven a few Audi rentals in Europe and those seat heaters are very therapeutical for bad back as as they warm up much quicker to a nice temperature.
